Welcome to the Young Carers Network (YCN), a Carers Australia initiative funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services.
The YCN is a nationally coordinated resource to raise young carer awareness. It also provides information, and direct young carers to appropriate pathways for support.

By accessing Carer Gateway, you will be connected with an Australia-wide network of Carer Gateway service providers.
They will talk through what you need and help you to find local services and support to help you.
Young Carers Connect (YCC) is a safe online space for young carers aged 12-25 years. YCC is all about having a laugh, playing games and meeting other young people who care for others.
Join us for a series of fortnightly YCC sessions. These are facilitated by the Young Carers Team at Carers Australia and Relationships Australia.
Carers National News (CNN) is a free weekly newsletter. CNN provides updates, insights and editorial from Carers Australia. It includes news on upcoming events and carer-related topics and issues.

Hi, I am Lucinda. I live in country South Australia. I am 16 and care for my sister who has multiple disabilities, including autism and an intellectual disability.
We are home schooled, and I love it. I do however have to spend 24/7 with my sister which can be challenging but also rewarding. I help as much as I can with the household chores. This includes cooking and help mum with my sister’s learning. She engages better when I am helping her. Mum and I come up with some creative ways to teach her.
